Arsenal backing Matteo Guendouzi to stay after meeting held

In the last few days, the media has been full of Guendouzi news – there has been a lot of speculation on his future, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Manchester United all linked for his services.

While we cannot definitively deny these links, as per an ESPN report by Julien Laurens and James Olley – Arsenal are backing Matteo Guendouzi to stay at the club and are opposed to the idea of selling him. They say that the club had a meeting with Guendouzi to discuss his behavior against Brighton and the decision to back him came as a consequence of this meeting.

This report carries weight in my opinion as Julien Laurens is well connected in France and Olley has been covering Arsenal for quite a while now.

Let’s hope that Guendouzi stays and can come ‘aboard’ as Mikel Arteta stated in his press conference. The 21 year old French midfielder undoubtedly has a high ceiling and if this report holds true, it looks like he will be continuing his development at Arsenal.

Arsenal FC is Life.
